The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded after a major charity concert held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the piece was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the music world. All took part in the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a team of producers and composers. The track features a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The team running the project have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
